Many large scale projects present their own unique set of requirements. Large scale projects are carefully phased from start to finish. This ensures that every element can be constructed to the highest specifications without compromising on quality or budget. We will prioritise areas of the garden you would like to be developed first, for example terracing, seating and planting near your house.
Planting plans provide the perfect blue print when starting from scratch or revitalising garden borders, raised beds or pots. Just like the master layout plan planting plans provide detailed information on the position of each plant and its requirements, as well as architectural features such as colour, height and seasonal interest.

The Design Process
Initial Consultation
Consultations present the perfect opportunity to meet and discuss your design requirements. Home visit consultations last approximately one hour and are priced according to your location.
During this time photos of the plot and site notes will be taken for reference during draughting of the design proposal and master layout plan.
Cotswold Garden Designs is fully compliant with COVID19 government regulations. We are offering free video consultations via ZOOM so we can still create your prefect design. Please get in touch for further information.
Design Proposal
The design proposal will list all the key design elements discussed during the initial consultation.
Quotations for design services will be indicated on the design proposal.
Once you have approved the design proposal documents containing details of our terms of engagement T&Cs of business and acceptance forms will be sent to you.
Following receipt of the design proposal and initial design fee mood boards wiil be created using visual representations of your ideas.
Site Survey
This stage provides detailed geological and geographical measurements of your garden and is a key element for the development of the master layout plan.
We use fully quailfied surveyors with hignly accurate laser measurment tools. At this stage any issues relating to planning permission are clarified.
Master Layout
The master layout forms the backbone of your design.
Drawings to scale using the site survey enable our landscapers and contractors to construct the elements of your design ensuring that everything is positioned correctly.
Before the master layout is finalised, draft plans allow for changes to be made. At this stage 3D visuals will be produced enabling you to get a feel for your new garden.
Planting Plans
Planting plans are a key element of your design and ensure each individual plant is positioned in exactly the right place to maximize architectural effect, colour and optimal growing conditions.
These plans help to minimise costly plant loss.
Design Construction
This is the final stage of the design process and by far the most exciting.
Once the site is prepared the master layout plan will be used to mark out all the key elements of your design, for example retaining walls, water features, terraces and steps.
